Sarees are essential part of Indian women’s wardrobe. It is said a women looks best in saree in all occasions. But maintaining its colour and keeping it like new requires a little effort and a lot of care.
- For keeping the shine of Silk Sarees, wash it in ¼ th of white vinegar in 3 litres of water and then rinse it well in cold water.
- Always wash cotton saree in mild detergent and dry it in shade (away from direct sunlight) to prevent the colour from fading.
- In case of a spill, blot (do not rub) the area with a mild detergent and wash it under cold running water.
- In case of heavy embroided saree, do not wash it too often.
- Do not cover embroided sarees with plastic as it can turn the gold embroidery to turn black.
- Fabric Conditioner is a must for designer saree and to keep it like ‘new’ for a long time.
- Iron it in low heat to prevent damage
- Change the fold of the saree while storing every month to prevent the embroidery from tearing.
- Keep napthaline tablets in between folds of the saree to protect it from pests.
